The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking two experienced sales and marketing professionals to aggressively promote Virginia to business and industry executives. The Project Manager will develop prospects, make presentations to corporate executives, accompany prospects on visits to Virginia localities, conduct extensive outreach marketing, and work with local economic developers and government officials to maximize marketing opportunities and successfully promote the State’s competitive position.
Candidates must possess considerable successful, executive level sales and marketing experience in a corporate business environment or in a local or regional economic development office, including demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing strategies to effectively close deals. Candidates must have experience in prospect development, marketing, sales, corporate development, and/or economic development and be able to demonstrate a complete understanding of project management when collaborating with regional and local allies. The Project Manager must have excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Applicants must also have strong organizational skills and be able to plan and successfully manage multiple marketing projects. Proficiency using multiple PC software packages, including presentation and project management applications, is highly desired, with Microsoft Office experience preferred. Extensive travel is required. Undergraduate/graduate degree in marketing, business administration or economics is preferred. Certified Economic Developer designation is a plus. Salary: $57,219 - $78,677.
