Project Coordinator

The Blacksburg Partnership, a non-profit economic development organization serving the community of Blacksburg, Virginia, is seeking an energetic, highly organized Project Coordinator to assist with the implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan.
The mission of the Partnership is to enhance quality of life in Blacksburg by enabling full service commercial and retail districts. This position will perform administrative support work and coordinate special projects and events in the Town of Blacksburg that advance the mission of the organization and promote Blacksburg as a destination. The Project Coordinator will also act as a liaison with local government, the academic community, community groups and the private sector.
Applicants should have considerable knowledge and experience in marketing strategy, project management and event planning, including the ability to generate sponsorships and other support; excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to work independently. Knowledge of retail recruitment is a plus.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field is required, along with a minimum of five years responsible experience in this setting. Starting salary range is $32,000 - $35,000 (DOQ) with excellent benefits that include retirement, life insurance, and employee medical insurance.
