GOVERNOR WARNER ANNOUNCES TOLL-FREE BUSINESS INFORMATION
HOTLINE
RICHMOND - Governor Mark R. Warner today announced that the Virginia
Department of Business Assistance has established a toll-free
number designed to increase access to its services for businesses
outside of the Richmond Metro area. The toll-free number, 1-866-248-8814,
will complement the Department of Business Assistance web site, http://www.dba.state.va.us/,
by providing an alternative to businesses without Internet access.
The combination of these two points of contact will serve as
the foundation for DBA’s Virginia Business Information
Center, which will provide all businesses across the state with
free, easy point-to-point access to resources which can help
them prosper.
"Providing a toll-free number that businesses across the Commonwealth
can use means it will be easier than ever for existing businesses
in every region to get the help they need," said Governor Warner." The
Virginia Business Information Center puts help just a click of
the mouse or a free phone call away from all Virginia employers."
The Virginia Department of Business Assistance (DBA) provides
both established businesses and budding entrepreneurs with information
about doing business in Virginia, help in solving problems, and
referrals to federal, state, and local programs that help businesses
prosper. DBA also administers the Virginia Small Business Incubator
Program, offers workforce training assistance, and provides a
variety of loan, loan guarantee, and capital access programs through
its Virginia Small Business Financing Authority.
"The thought of dealing with governmental entities can be daunting
for a business," states Secretary of Commerce and Trade Michael
J. Schewel." DBA's Virginia Business Information Center will make
it easier for businesses to find the information they need."

that DBA is here to help businesses of all sizes, in all industries,
of every background, in every corner of the Commonwealth," said
DBA director Chuck Mills.
