EDA Appoints new Chairman

The Bedford County Economic Development Authority (EDA) appointed a new Chairman, Mickey Johnson (District 2), and Vice Chairman, Kelly Harmony (District 6) at its February 2018 meeting.

 

Also during the meeting, the EDA invited Edgar Tuck, District 2 Board of Supervisor and Economic Development Committee member, to participate in future meetings in an advisory role.

Innovairre Announces Expansion in Forest

 

On February 27, Governor Ralph Northam announced that Innovairre Communications, LLC, a global manufacturer of direct mail fundraising campaign materials for the nonprofit community, will invest $4.85 million to add state-of-the-art digital printing equipment and expand its operation in Bedford County. The project will create at least 12 new jobs. In addition, 72 existing employees will be retrained to operate the new equipment with support from the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). KMR Aviation expands business in Forest

KMR Aviation Services Inc., an aviation management company, will invest $1 million to expand its operation in Bedford County. The company will purchase its 7,200-square-foot leased facility, behind the Forest Crossing Center on Forest Rd., and add a new repair center to build and assemble components on location to accommodate its growing client base. The project will create 12 new jobs.

The Bedford County Parks & Rec Department brings you the first

Taste of the Trailsfun race on

Saturday, April 28th at the New London Tech Trails. A 5K fun run/walk and biking event will be held as part of the first in a series of treasure hunts throughout the County. Stay tuned for more details about this event sponsored by Beale's.

 

A ribbon cutting and press event will be held on Thursday, April 26th at 10:00 am. Come tour the trails ahead of the Saturday fun race. You just might find a hidden treasure!

Bedford County Businesses and Organizations Recognized at Annual Chamber Dinner

 

Several Bedford County businesses were recognized at the Bedford County Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner on March 22, 2018 at Boonsboro Country Club. Awards were presented to companies and non-profits for their work in their respective field and in the community. Congratulations to all who were nominated and to those who won in their category.
