Alexandria Pop-Up Program Partners with The Art League

AEDP's Pop-Up ALX program is partnering with local arts organization The Art League and the International Institute of Photography to bring a collaborative and educational exhibition showcasing the artwork of girls from the City of Alexandria alongside the work of seminal female artists.

The first ever exhibition titled "Looking Up" will be temporarily on display from April 2nd through May 1st at 104 South Union Street. The gallery will feature the photography of ten-year-old girls from the SOHO Old Town (a Space Of Her Own) outreach program juxtaposed with iconic photographs of groundbreaking women in the field. The exhibit presents a multi-faceted portrait-from both the children's and the professional photographers' points of view-of a photographer's relationship and creative response to her environment.
