Tour Times: 9-10am, 10-11am, 1-2pm, 2-3pm A couple spots still available on some tours. Email to inquire.

Virginia Beach developer and CEO of Gold Key|PHR Hotels & Resorts, Bruce Thompson, invites conference attendees to a hard hat tour for a first-hand glimpse of the construction progress on the historic Cavalier Hotel renovation project.

From the Jazz Age through the Roaring 20s, Virginia Beach was a distinguished and quintessential vacation destination for the East Coast’s wealthiest and most famous. In fact, one of its most iconic properties, once considered to be the “jewel” of the Mid-Atlantic, hosted seven U.S. presidents in addition to the likes of Judy Garland, Bette Davis, Adolph Coors and even Al Capone!

The storied Cavalier Hotel, built in 1927, will be brought to life when it reopens its doors as a distinguished member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, following an extensive $75-million renovation. The Cavalier, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, boasts an expansive 21 acres, situated just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean, and has long been a picturesque VB photo-op for those visiting and enchanted by its opulent presence overlooking the heart of the Resort Beach.

Staying true to the meaning behind its name, the renovated Cavalier Hotel will bring back the days of elegant and refined hospitality, impeccable service and glamourous etiquette – a true testament to Virginia Beach’s Old World service and reflecting the multitude of history and stories that live within its walls. In addition to guest rooms and suites, the renovated Cavalier Hotel will house a spa, fine dining, a bourbon distillery, garden, pool and museum.

Be one of the first to experience the “new” Cavalier Hotel and see history be reborn!

There will be two, one-hour tours and each tour group will be limited to 11 people. Participants will meet at the Cavalier site to gather for each tour. Directions and details will be sent as we get closer to the date. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

VEDA is celebrating its 35th year of excellence serving the economic development professionals of Virginia. To mark the occasion, we have a special event planned for Thursday, October 12, 2017 at TOPGOLF in Virginia Beach. So, what is TOPGOLF? Players hit micro-chipped golf balls that track each shot’s accuracy and distance while awarding points for hitting targets on the outfield. Anyone can plan TOPGOLF, from aspiring golf pros to those who have never walked 18 holes. It’s competitive. It’s fun. And it’s a unique way to network and celebrate VEDA’s 35th year! VEDA has reserved the rooftop terrace for food, drinks, and TOPGOLF! Transportation will be provided to and from the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
