The historic Wayne Theatre/Ross Performing Arts Center has a history of making an impact on the Waynesboro community since it first opened its doors as a vaudeville house in 1926. The Wayne’s restoration and re-opening in 2016 was fueled by a handful of community members who had the vision of what the Wayne could mean to the community.

The Wayne Theatre Alliance promotes the artistic, cultural, and educational opportunities and the economic vitality of Waynesboro and adjacent region through the operation and preservation of the Ross Performing Arts Center at the historic Wayne Theatre as a performing arts/conference facility.

Faulconer Construction Company, Inc. has been in business for over 70 years. Formally incorporating in 1954, the company has been under its current ownership since 1961. As a prominent civil contractor in central Virginia for many years, our experience is extensive and encompasses all facets of the civil infrastructure spectrum. Our depth of expertise combined with our history has helped shape a firm that can adapt to almost every situation that might arise. Headquartered in Charlottesville, VA, we have regional offices located in Culpeper and Salem, VA. Faulconer also has offices in Cary, Charlotte, and Jacksonville, NC. We perform work throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. We currently employ more than 350 people. This includes Degreed Engineers, registered Professional Engineers, with four full time safety personnel on staff. Faulconer utilizes state-of-the-art estimating, takeoff, scheduling, and project management software and applications. We own or lease approximately 200 pieces of major construction equipment and an additional 95 smaller vehicles and rolling stock. Operationally, our company traditionally self performs 80% of our volume of annual revenue. We have provided services to a wide client base, which includes universities/colleges, state agencies, healthcare providers, non-profit organizations, private corporations, school systems, sports teams, the military, and private entities. We not only meet our project schedules but also assist owners, general contractors, and construction managers “push” other trades to maintain their performance schedules. Through the years, we have established a reputation for progressive, high-quality construction services by possessing a strong set of capabilities and a proven record of accomplishment.

Strategically located in the I-81 corridor in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Waynesboro is nestled in the folds of the Blue Ridge Mountains with the beautiful South River bisecting our downtown. Our manufacturing prowess dates to the 1800s when companies flocked to the area to take advantage of the water and transportation access.  Products made here played an important role in furnishing American homes, shaping the fashion industry, and landing men on the moon. We boast incredible natural assets, including a less than four-mile traveling distance between our downtown and the Shenandoah National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Appalachian Trail. We have one of only two urban trout fisheries in the state, and a downtown waterway navigable by canoe and kayak. An emerging artistic, craft beverage, local food, outdoor recreation, and entrepreneurial cluster is nascent in our economy and particularly strong in our downtown. “Where Good Nature Come’s Naturally” is not just a fancy brand or tag line—it’s a nod to our exceptional natural setting and our welcoming spirit.  Often cited by visitors for our first-rate hospitality, Waynesboro is much more than a great place to visit.  It is an affordable and progressive place to live, study and work—all within a setting of natural splendor.
