"Susan has always availed herself to young professionals outside her agency looking for insights," said Deborah Flippo (Draper Aden) in her nomination of Deusebio. "She has always been a champion for economic development, delivering thoughtful and impactful remarks to a varying degree of groups. Deusebio shines as a role model for young professionals in economic development by exemplifying the criteria to meet that definition." Deusebio has provided key leadership for the Virginia Economic Developers Association serving on the board and then progressing through the officer positions and serving as VEDA's President in 2010. She still serves in an active role with the Association and its programming and professional development efforts. Through her involvement in VCU's music programs and local Richmond groups, Deusebio extends herself far beyond her job description to improve her community, the Commonwealth and the profession of economic development.

"McClintock has served the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) and its predecessor agency (VDED) for nearly 30 years, exhibiting leadership, compassion and a keen intellect," said Sandra McNinch in her nomination of McClintock. "He was instrumental in the creation of the Virginia Community Certification Program and Virginia Shell Program and continues to serve as a mentor and the voice of calm reason at VEDP. "I can't recall any recommendation Rob made that I didn't take" said Stephen Moret, VEDP President and CEO. "He has served as an on-call expert and consultant for nearly every community in Virginia. His attention to detail and responsiveness has contributed to a consistently positive image for Virginia in our client outreach and interactions"
