MARCH 2, 2018

Momentum is underway

February is the shortest month of the year and -- as usual -- it just flies by. But this year there was more activity happening throughout the region's economy than there were days in the month!

GRP announcedTympanogenis relocating to the VA Bio+Tech Park, where the innovative firm will test its eardrum-fixing gel. This was one of the many recent successes at the park.Bioscience is one of our top seven industry clustersand our region has had many wins in this space over the years.

We traveled to New York City to speak with some of the top real estate investment firms in the world and promote future investments in the region. We also traveled to meet with prospects in France and Italy and are gearing up for missions this month to South by Southwest in Austin, Los Angeles, Brazil and Washington, D.C.

Back here at home, GRP hosted an event for investors focused on marketing the region and a site tour of the amazing work underway in the Commerce Corridor adjacent to The Port of Virginia's Richmond Marine Terminal for local real estate brokers.

The activity in the region shows no signs of slowing down. Richmond was named one of the coolest cities to visit by Forbesand one of Lonely Planet's best destinations in the U.S.(thanks to the good work of our friends at Richmond Region Tourism and Venture Richmond). And beginning today, startups have a new home at the 1717 Innovation Center, a collaboration of Startup Virginia and Capital One.

Here's to continuing this high level of activity throughout the region.
